First of all, you might be asking ‘Who is Cano’ ? 
If your not part of the SALSA music scene, then that a legit question.
If you are part of the Salsa music scene, you do know Cano. Cano is everywhere when it comes
to Salsa Music !! You couldn’t keep him away…..
Cano, a Musicologist and Collector of Salsa Music recordings for more than 25 years. He also does video recordings for seminars conducted by him to educate others about Salsa Music. Always looking to instill the culture and heritage of Salsa music in today’s young generation, planting musical seeds for the future . Love and adored by the musicians and many in the music industry, from New York as well as Puerto Rico. He has collaborated in different occasion with such past Salsa luminaries as Pete Conde , Marvin Santiago, Frankie Ruiz, Luisito Ayala, Tommy Olivencia, Junior Gonzalez, Tito Gomez, Tito Puente Patato Valdes, Mario Rivera …

Cano, from Ponce, Puerto Rico, grew up listening and watching Ponce’s famed orchestra La Sonora Ponceña rehearsals. During the afternoons he would go to Don David’ home and and from ‘el palo de quenepa’ he would absorb, the music that eventually turned into his passion ‘ La Salsa’
During his formative years, his music eduction came the bands that were the most active and of course the hottest, during that time period. Bands such as Impacto Crea, Ralphy Leavitt y La Selecta , Maelo, Barretto , Marvin Santiago , Bobby Valentin con Frankie Hernandez,. Etc. .
As any true collectionist, Cano’s proud of his musical collection which currently consists of 12,000 CDs , 9000 LPs, and about 3500 dvd … ( talk about support the music !! )
His current favorite Salsa artists consist of Adalberto Alvarez y Su Son. Ricardo Ray with Bobby Cruz. Willie Rosario, La Perfecta de Eddie Palmieri , amongst others..
In Latin Jazz ‘The Pirate’ Jerry Gonzalez, Arturo Sandoval , Chucho Valdes, Michael Camilo , and many more..
Places that Cano has been spotted at are Club El Palladium, Corso, Las Vegas, La Mirage ..etc.

On Television, Cano currently collaborates along side with Johnny Cruz ‘El Señor Timbal’, The Latin America show. In the radio industry, he has collaborated with Pedro Liz and Willie Medina on 90.3 fm …. who would have thought ( ha-ha )
So what’s special about Cano ?
His love, enthusiasm for Salsa music, but most importably his unselfish way of sharing his passion with others. You see wherever Cano goes, he will share with you. If there’s something new and outstanding in the music, he will share with you. On Facebook he has over 5000 followers and all because of his love for the music. The musicians they all know, and respect him for who he is. Cano posts his pictures from his last, salsa adventure and the comments start pouring in. This is not once in awhile this is always. His love for the music is something to be admired. Many go through life without passion or love, but not Cano !!
